CNN's Schizophrenic Rape Reporting

When CNN covered the arrest and prosecution of members of the Duke Lacrosse team they were quick to assign guilt.  As it turned out, the allegations were completely false, having been made up by the alleged victim.  They never apologized for their coverage and the damage that reporting did to the reputations of those accused.

So, one can't help but wonder why CNN is suddenly so concerned about the futures of two rapists who have not only been found guilty, but publicly bragged about their rape on social media:

Could the race of the victim played a part in the two distinct angles CNN took on these two similar high profile rape stories?  Nah, of course not, the media has no interest in pushing racial issues into stories.
