The Democrats' Big Tent

“We are the big tent. (Republicans) are the pup tent,” [South Carolina Democratic Party chairman Dick Harpootlian] said. “The Democratic Party gives an opportunity to gay people, black people, Hispanic people, women – no matter what your orientation is or racial background, you have an opportunity to play a role in the Democratic Party.”[1]
The Democrats are indeed the big tent party, that is unless you believe in the basic right to life, the rule of law, especially when it comes to immigration, religious liberty, the validity of elections, or the second amendment.

Over the next few days we'll be making a series of posts shining a light on just how big the Democrats' tent really is.  We'll start it off with this little ditty from Democrat icon President John F. Kennedy who uttered these words when talking about the civil rights marches in D.C.
"They’re liable to come down here and shit all over the [Washington] monument." - John F Kennedy

The democrats are a distribution party. They want to win with the least possible amount of votes so that they don't have to divvy up the pie into too many slices. So their big tent only needs 50 percent plus 1. Any more than that and it gets too hard to split the spoils. That is why the white male is no longer welcome and why the white female will get the boot when their votes are no longer needed.
