Todd Akin created a firestorm when he tried to explain his pro-life stance for being against abortion in all instances, including rape. His views have been called extremist and radical by those in the media. While it is true his position of not wanting exceptions for those extremely rare circumstances is outside the mainstream, when it comes to extreme, radical views on abortion, his position doesn't hold a candle to President Obama's.
President Obama is against any restrictions on abortion. Let's run down the list:
- Late-term Abortion (abortions performed in the third trimester) - In a 2003 press conference Obama stated he was "pro-choice" in all circumstances, including the third trimester.
- Partial-Birth Abortion (abortions where the baby is allowed to be birthed through the cervix and then killed by driving a spike in the the base of the skull) - As an Illinois state senator Obama voted against legislation that would prevent the barbaric act of partial birth abortion.
Remind me again, who is the extremist?
- Live-Birth Abortion (abortions performed by inducing labor, birthing the premature baby, then killing it outside the mother if it survives the birthing process) - On three separate occasions Obama voted against bills that would require doctors to provide care to infants born from failed abortions, allowing abortion doctors to terminate the lives of live babies.
