Google Fiber Pricing, Availability and Features


Features:
  • No caps, no overages. 
  • Includes a terabyte of cloud storage with Google Drive. 
  • Google fiber TV Service - hundreds of channels all in HD.  Built-in search of live TV, DVR, on-Demand, and Netflix.  Record up to 500 hours of HD programming, 8 shows at a time.  Fiber TV app makes your tablet a remote and additional screen for watching live TV and DVR.




Devices:
  • Network Box
  • Storage Box - DVR with 2 terabytes of storage, watch/record 8 shows at once, load your own personal movies
  • TV Box - set-top box required for each TV, built-in wifi accesspoint, makes every TV a wifi router, includes Ethernet port to plugin game consoles or other devices
  • Nexus 7 Tablet (Included at no extra charge) - new TV remote





Pricing:
  • $300 "Construction" Fee - one-time, includes installation
  • 2 Packages:
    • Gigabit + TV: $120/mo & 2 year contract (waived for new customers)
    • Gigabit Internet: $70/mo & 1 year contract (waived for new customers)
  • Third Package - pay construction fee and get 5mbs down for free for 7 years. Construction fee can be broken into 12 monthly payments of $25.
      
Availability:
  • Will be available first in neighborhoods that want it the most.  
  • Register at Google.com/fiber and pay $10 by September 9, 2012.
  • Requires between 40 and 80 subscribers per neighborhood to be included, and will link up government buildings, schools, etc. for free as they deploy to each neighborhood.
