Speaker Pelosi Calls for Eugenics Solution to Economic Crisis

Democrat Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi has called for a eugenics approach to the country's current economic crisis. She told ABC's This Week, "contraception will reduce costs to the states and to the federal government," while discussing the Democrats stimulus package that includes a controversial increase in birth control funding.

Eugenics was a social policy pushed heavily by academics prior to the end of World War II. The practice was used to categorize some people as unfit for reproduction based on their poverty status, IQ, or skin color, among other traits.

In the U.S. Margaret Sanger used eugenics as her inspiration for creating Planned Parenthood in an attempt to control the reproduction of poor minorities. Adolf Hitler and the Nazis were perhaps the most infamous subscribers to Eugenics, making use of its principles in their chase for the "perfect the Aryan race".

So Pelosi believes the less mouths to feed the less strain on state funded social services. Why doesn't she feel the same about illegal aliens? The last I heard, she was one who supported amnesty and family reunification for those who are admitted. Doesn't this also contribute to a strain on state funded social services? Just look at what is happening to her home state.

The commenter has a point. Next time amnesty comes up for debate, we can argue illegals constitute a drain on public services, and thus are bad for the economy. Thanks Nancy.
