Rush Limbaugh drudged up the old-wives tail that if the Redskins score a victory the week before the presidential election that the incumbent party typically wins. Don't get too upset if the Skins don't pull it out. A quick review of recent history shows the tail has lost some clout.
In 2004, the Redskins lost to Green Bay 28-14 on Oct. 31, just 2 days before the election. Of course, we all know how that turned out, Bush received more votes for president than anyone in history.
Having said that, if the Skins do win, it can't be a bad thing to have superstition on your side.
