Obama Suspends Campaign

Barack Obama announced today he would be cancelling several campaign events to return to Hawaii to spend time with his ailing grandmother, Madelyn Dunham. We're sure his decision had nothing to do with a desire to avoid answering questions from the media about Biden's impending international crisis comments, Barney Frank saying the Democrats are going to raise taxes, or his own "spread the wealth" gaffe...

It's clear he just wants to spend time with the woman who raised him while his mom was out gallivanting around the world with her 14 other sister wives. After all, his grandma fell and broke her hip several weeks ago and her condition has deteriorated so much that the doctors felt safe releasing her from the hospital late last week.

There's also probably little or no chance he'd try to pull a Mel Carnahan and bank on the sympathy vote.
