Clearly McCain's pick of Sarah Palin has scored him an election coup he could never have anticipated. Not only did the buzz surrounding her selection as his VP lift Republican National Convention viewership to record setting levels, but her popularity among voters is topping the charts, above both Barack Obama and John McCain, according to Rasmussen.
Here is the most telling stat of all: 59% of voters not affiliated with either major party view Palin favorably. Her popularity has lifted McCain's favorable view among unaffiliated voters from 54% to 65%. She's scoring with independents and she's scoring big for John McCain.
Rasmussen is also reporting that 51% of voters believe that reporters in the national media are purposefully trying to hurt her.
