RNC Most Watched Convention in History

On the heels of the record setting Democrat presidential nomination speech, the Republican National Convention set a new record for "the most-watched convention on television ever." [1] Even more surprising was John McCain's speech which matched the viewership numbers of Barack Obama's, tieing the record set just one week earlier.

Both a gulf coast hurricane and the NFL's first game of the regular season weren't enough to keep viewers away.

To say this makes the debates all the more interesting is an understatement.
