Exclusive: JoCo Candidate Vows to Bring Back Chain Gangs

Taking a page from Sheriff Joe Arpaio, Republican primary candidate for sheriff Ken Smith told a gathering of Kansas Republicans during last Saturday's Olathe Republican Party picnic that he vows, if elected, to bring back chain gangs to Johnson County.
"The days of criminals sitting in their climate controlled cells, be[ing] treated to three hot meals a day, enjoying digital cable television, and playing video games must come to an end. Criminals should be punished for their crimes, not live in luxury until it’s time for their parole, only to go out and commit another crime so they can get back in to live on taxpayers’ money and enjoy things taxpayers can’t afford for themselves."

The issue seemed to play well with conservatives as the comments helped him achieve a strong straw poll victory over incumbent Sheriff Frank Denning. No word on wether pink undies for criminals are part of Smith's tougher stance on crime.

I'm glad I know now who not to vote for. Anyone who looks up to the scumbag Joe Arpaio should definitely not be worthy of a vote.

Now I have a GOOD reason to move to Johnson County! Someone who gets the meaning of the word "rehabilitate".
