KU Quickly Running Out of Starters

Hot off his 3 point, game winning shot, KU's Mario Chalmers has announced his plans to enter the NBA draft.
"I had to think about it a long time," Chalmers said. "I sat down with Coach (Bill) Self a couple of times already and we talked about it, and I'm just going to go out there and give it a try."

KU fans will be disappointed by this news, considering teammates Brandon Rush and Darrell Arthur made their draft announcements lask week.

It is a good time for Mario to leave. His stock will never be higher having hit the magical 3 pointer.

KU now has lost 4 key people, 3 to the draft and Darnell Jackson will graduate. However, they will be OK. With their tradition, the recent championship and their young, proven coach, they should have no trouble reloading.

I should also add Sasha Kaun to the list of graduating seniors. So there are 5 top guys leaving. However, with Sherron Collins and Cole Aldridge they should have a solid nucleus with which to rebuild.
