A federal judge has placed a lien on Rev. Fred Phelps' church and office building. The liens come as Phelps appeals a $5 million dollar judgement against him for funeral protests.
If you are unfamiliar with Rev. Phelps and his followers than you have probably been living in a Jim Jones compound and are not likely reading this blog. But just in case, they are famous for carrying signs that read “God Hates Fags” and “Thank God for dead soldiers” at soldiers' funerals. They claim to believe that U.S. casualties in Afgahnistan and Iraq are due to the country's tolerance for homosxuals. Prior to the Iraq war, they were known for protesting funerals of AIDS victims.
