Good News For Condom Manufacturers: 1 in 4 Girls Have STDs

The Center for Disease Control (CDC) has released findings of a new study that show one in four girls between the ages of 14 and 19 have a sexually transmitted disease. They tested for HPV, the Clap, the Herpolie Urpolies, and trichomoniasis (whatever that is).

Because no local blog post would be complete without a comment from a local expert... here's one from a doc at Children's Mercy.
"There's a lot of messages to teenagers that everybody's doing it when in fact everybody's not doing it," [Dr. Daryl] Lynch said.

He's right, according to the study only half the girls tested said they'd had sex. Which would seem to indicate that if you are female and you've had sex, you have a 50% change of having an STD. Yummy!
