Mexico's $14 Billion a Year Drug Smuggling Business

The White House wants every American to know that if they buy illegal drugs they are helping fund the drug cartels in Mexico. They say that illegal drug users are paying the cartels nearly $14 billion annually for drugs like meth, heroin, cocaine and marijuana.

John P. Walters, director of the Office of National Drug Control Policy, says Americans need to do more to help by spending $1.4 billion more to send services and equipment to Mexico to take on the cartels.

We have our own solution for Mr. Walters and Mexico to help deal with the cartel problems.

Since more cocaine, heroin, methamphetamine and marijuana enter the U.S. from Mexico than from any other point, than perhaps the $2 billion border fence authorized by congress last year would do more to stop or slow the flow of illegal narcotics into our country than some plan to send services and equipment to a corrupt foreign government. But alas, less than 10 miles of the fence have been built since it past nearly 12 months ago and congress has since pulled its funding.
